The Shore of Lake Michigan Served as a Picturesque Backdrop to This Watervale Inn Wedding

Lydia Vanderhill and Ben Kelley's wedding venue, Watervale Inn in Michigan, was chosen for the special meaning it holds for the couple. "We choose to get married at a spot I grew up coming to every summer, and a place so dear to my family. Watervale Inn has all the style and charm we could ask for, and Lower Herring Lake and Lake Michigan set the perfect backdrop for our wedding weekend. We encouraged our guests to stay the whole holiday weekend, and had a blast boating, playing games, hiking, and sitting around bonfires with everyone," Lydia shares. Since the natural beauty of Michigan is so abundant, the couple kept the wedding's decor minimal, letting nature shine. The Michigan wedding's flower choices included, "tulips, peonies, ranunculous, anemones, thistle, eucalyptus, lisianthus and veronica. We stuck to whites, purples, greens and peach colors," they share. At the end of the day, the couple's advice to future to-be-weds is to, "Keep it simple, step away for a moment to soak it all in, and have fun!"
