The Reception

Just after the recessional, a light rain began to fall, and by the time the newlyweds made it safely to the inn's veranda, it was pouring. The rain was a blessing, declares Wendi. While their guests were comfortably partying in glowing, candelit rooms decked in wispy white flowers, Wendi and Josh took pictures outside. The pictures taken in the rain are very special to me, says Wendi. By then it was just misting and I told Josh, 'Let's go down by the river. A little rain never hurt anyone.' They returned to the party with their skin damp from the moisture, and huge smiles on their faces. An emotional evening was about to unfurl, filled with musical performances by friends, moving toasts, laughter, and tears. Time seemed to stand still and yet fly, says Wendi. This was a magical night for us.
