The Reception

The newlyweds made their entrance to the celebration by descending a dramatic flight of stairs to the club's Great Hall. The rooms were full of candles and music (an 11-piece Motown and R&B band played at the reception), and a special toast stands out in Meri's memory: The best man, Arthur, presented a pictorial of his friendship with Stephen since age nine, bringing down the house when the last picture -- the couple's engagement photo with Arthur's face superimposed over Meri's -- was presented.
