The Reception

After a cocktail hour that featured Shelby's favorite drink, the chocolate martini, all 250 guests moved inside to the Starlight stage for dinner and dancing. The stage was aglow with giant Japanese lanterns and theater lights that created dramatic patterns on the floor. When guests started dancing, a white screen that provided a backdrop during dinner was lifted, opening up the entire theater. Two small bridges over the orchestra pit enabled guests to go out in the theater and watch the fun. The view of the party from the theater seats was beautiful and surreal, Shelby remembers.
