The Reception
The party began shortly after the cake was dramatically cut by John wielding one of the castle’s swords. The newlyweds and their guests moved to Borthwick’s Great Hall and danced to a ceilidh band, or Scottish party band. “The bandleader showed everyone how to do the steps to each dance,” the couple laughs, “and everyone had lots of fun despite the occasional crash.” To everyone’s delight, Erin’s brother also did a very entertaining, spontaneous Riverdance rendition.
