The Reception Decor

The wedding had officially begun at 3 p.m., when 160 guests watched as the bride walked down the aisle on her dad's arm at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Farmington Hills, where Sophie had attended church all her life. The traditional service took over an hour, during which Sophie and Doug, following Greek Orthodox tradition, did not speak to each other. The reception began with white-gloved servers offering hors d'oeuvres and cocktails from silver trays. When it was time for guests to move into the hotel's Regency Room for dinner and dancing, servers rang little silver bells.
