The Location

The reception took place aboard the Star of Louisville, a grand dinner cruise ship reminiscent of a ritzy yacht or a Titanic-esque ocean liner. I wanted the occasion to have a touristy feel and ambiance, says Jill. We had so many guests from out of town and some of them had never seen the Ohio River, let alone cruised on it. For the duration of the afternoon reception, the ship sailed north on the river, past the Louisville Water Tower, Captain's Quarters, charming riverfront homes, and other city vistas. The ship had three decks: Dining took place on the first deck, with tables outfitted in classic white linens and candles, while the dance floor was on the second deck.
