The "Harry Potter" Series Inspired This Wedding at Hempstead House in New York

Stephanie Lee (25 and a marketing director) and Jonathan Segarra (28 and a cameraman) are serious Harry Potter fans, so they went all-out Hogwarts for their wedding at the Hempstead House. “Our venue did the majority of the work, but we wanted to nod to the series in everything we did,” Stephanie says. “We’re both such big nerds that the details were the fun part.” The wedding party wore Gryffindor red and gold, the program was modeled on The Daily Prophet and bartenders served up Butterbeer. The couple exchanged “unbreakable vows” at a ceremony overlooking Long Island Sound. The kids in the family donned Hogwarts robes. “We didn’t expect anyone to embrace the theme that much, so we loved it,” Jonathan says. The groomsmen rocked fake Death Eaters tattoos, and Stephanie dubbed her bridesmaids Dumbledore’s Army. Jonathan’s cockapoo and his mom’s Yorkie also dressed for the occasion. A dragon climbed up the dulce de leche and neopolitan cake, topped with figurines of the couple in Gryffindor robes. Envelopes addressed to Harry “flew” out of a fireplace, and the couple named tables after their favorite characters. To end the night, Stephanie and Jonathan sent Muggles home with boxes of macarons.
