The Groom Performed a Special Song During This Rustic Wedding at Wrightsville Manor in North Carolina
Brittney (a project manager) and Brent (a college pastor) were married in Wilmington, North Carolina, in a celebration that, "was an explosion of love." When Brittney recalls the day, she has this to share: "On March 8th, I experienced heaven on earth. This day makes my heart melt. The sound of laughter I heard this day is the best music. The sacrifices people made to be there are the best gifts. The beauty of the faces I saw in the crowd is the best painting. The earth-shattering love I felt reminds me that God is the best Father. There is nothing like having all of the people you love from so many different chapters of your life in one room. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced." The North Carolina wedding began with fashion choices that befit the celebration's vibe perfectly. Brittney's dress was, "simple, classy, elegant, and a dash of sexy!" She then paired her gown with, "a cathedral veil because I loved the way it enhances the bridal look."
When it came time for the ceremony, the couple chose to exchange vows, "under a large, picturesque moss tree." Family was central to the couple's ceremony and Brittney's father walked her down, "the aisle toward my husband, bridal party, and my father-in-love, our officiant aka Papa Campbell. My father-in-love has been a constant source of encouragement and is the first one to make someone laugh. His heart, integrity, and leadership are unmatched. There are so many parts of his character that I will carry throughout my marriage and one day instill into our kids. To have him marry us was an honor and it brings tears to my eyes even thinking about the moment where I stood with him in front of so many people I love. My dad has been there for me in so many moments and I am grateful to have a father who sacrifices for me, helps me, and works so hard. To have men like this in my life is the biggest blessing," Brittney shares. One of the main highlights of the ceremony was the musical numbers Brent shared. "My husband is one of my favorite people on this earth. He spends his life pouring into and serving others. He’s also one of the most talented and intelligent men I know. He’s an amazing singer and guitarist. My husband, his twin, his sister, and one of Brent’s students sang a worship medley. They combined these two songs for a mini-worship session during the ceremony." In addition to the worship medley, Brent also performed a special song he had written for Brittney.
As a self-professed "DIY queen,"" Brittney chose to make much of the reception décor herself. "When I looked around the reception space, so many details were connected to a memory. It was beautiful and so special to me. My bridesmaids made beautiful signs for the order of events and cake table. I designed cake stands from pieces I found at a vintage store. My family helped paint the lanterns gold. I spray painted the candle holders a specific gold to align with the vintage theme. I made my welcome sign, seating chart, and place cards. Every time my friend would call me during wedding planning, she would say, “You’re at the craft store again?!” Those memories of creating pieces for the reception made the room feel full of love," she shares.
