The Gown

The bride's mom, who knows the Detroit area like the back of her hand, did lots of the pre-wedding legwork, because Rachel and Michael were living in New York. The cake designer was an old friend, and the floral designer someone Rachel's mother had known for years. Back in New York, the bride found her perfect dress at a local institution, Kleinfeld of Brooklyn. It was the first dress I tried on, says Rachel. I fell in love with it. Some of my friends described it as looking like a tiered wedding cake!
