The Gown
Dori embodied old Hollywood glamour in her grandmother's wedding gown from 1934. It was a simple champagne sheath with a small train, and featured lace and beading around the neckline. For the reception, she changed into a less fragile, more party-friendly frock: a knee-length, brown and pink, pleated party dress from Betsey Johnson. It had a retro look that I felt matched the wedding dress, she says. Instead of wearing a veil, Dori salvaged pearl beads and wax flowers from her grandmother's original headpiece and wired them to a comb she wore in her hair.
