The Gown
Elisabeth wore a champagne-colored satin sheath, which she had altered to work with a hand-knit “overdress” created by her mother and a friend. She also wore a cropped knit jacket, which her mother also made. “I designed the dress/ensemble by drawing from existing bits and pieces and modifying knitting patterns we found,” the bride explains. She attached the knit dress to her gown with traditional Faroese buttons and closed the jacket with the brooch from the Faroese costume she inherited from her mother, a native of the Faroe Islands.
