After about a year and a half, Nick says he knew Shayna was special and that he wanted to marry her. “At that point I figured I needed to sit her dad down and ask his blessing,” Nick says. “I wanted it to be somewhat formal, but not over the top. I tried to go to a casual restaurant with him, but it ended up being closed, so we had to settle for a Subway. It still makes us laugh.”
