The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the First Congregational Church in New Milford. “I was raised in this church, and my mother was the associate pastor there for a decade,” says Jacqueline. The front of the church was decorated with roping on the banisters of the stairs and four wreaths across the front doors. The interior featured pew cones filled with hydrangeas and tied with brown ribbon, plus two large arrangements on either side of the pulpit. During the ceremony, the bride and groom exchanged traditional vows. They had four readings, including a poem written by the groom’s late grandmother that is read at all of his family weddings. “There was not a dry eye in the church after that,” says Jacqueline.
