The Ceremony

The Jewish wedding ceremony was also held at the Dearborn Inn. It was a big wedding, with 250 guests, but we tried to make our ceremony as intimate and personal as possible, says Rachel. With the help of a rabbi, the couple wrote their own wedding vows and ceremony. We wanted to stress the importance of celebrating with family and friends, and we wanted all our family to take part in supporting our lives as a married couple. To that end, four relatives held the poles of the huppah, and friends and family read each of the seven traditional Jewish wedding readings.
