The Ceremony
In keeping with the hometown vibe, Karen and Jeff 's high school priest performed the 3:00 p.m. service. The time proved fortuitous, Karen says, as the church had been decorated earlier that day -- for an ordination of priests -- with beautiful fall flowers that complemented their own: rust ribbon on the pews, leonidas roses, and gerbera daises. Honoring their heritage, bagpipes played while the couple entered and exited the church; instrumental and vocal performances, including one by the groom's sister Judy, gave the traditional Catholic ceremony a personal spin. We spent a lot of time and money on our music, says Karen. We're both huge music fans.
