The Ceremony

Hilary and Todd exchanged vows in Swan's Trail Chapel, a country church built on a Snohomish hillside in 1915. Wreaths of blue and green hydrangea hanging from blue satin ribbon greeted guests as they entered the double doors. The entryway and altar were swathed in garlands of blue hydrangea and cream roses, and two large arrangements of similar blooms in silver metal buckets sat beside the altar in wrought-iron stands. I wanted the flowers to look like they belonged in the chapel, not placed there just for the wedding, Hilary says. I definitely didn't want to take away from the chapel's charm. The decor proved a perfect fit -- and did double-duty gussying up the reception space later that evening.
