The Ceremony
The wedding took place outdoors in the morning and it could not have been more personal. My Uncle Bob Meyer is a Catholic priest, says Sherri, and he also performed the marriages of my parents and all three of my sisters. As he had with each of Sherri's sisters and their husbands, during the ceremony Uncle Bob presented the couple with what Sherri calls the box. She says, The box is to be used whenever we just need to speak our piece with each other. For example, if I need to talk to Jack about something but am finding it difficult to do so, I would put the box on his side of the bed or at his place at the dinner table, and he would know that I needed to speak my heart.
