The Ceremony

I grew up on the St. Johns River, says Wendi, on why she and Josh chose Winterbourne Inn as the scene for both their ceremony and reception. I loved the natural beauty and openness. Set on lush grounds overlooking the St. Johns River, the Victorian home projects a picturesque, southern vibe and easily complemented the wedding's intimate, family-focused feel. There were so many family touches, describes Wendi. An aunt had seen to the flowers that studded the white arch at the water's edge, where the couple said their vows. The florist wove a bit of lace from Wendi's mother's wedding gown into the bridal bouquet. Two empty seats in the front row served as a memorial to family members who had passed away (Wendi's parents had included the same meaningful gesture in their wedding 29 years earlier).
