The Ceremony

Stephen is Catholic; Meri is Jewish; and they both wanted their ceremony to be one that all their guests would relate to, regardless of their religions. The result was a melange of traditions. The couple wed beneath a white birch huppah with thousands of orchids, in a service led by a reverend. A cantor sang the prayers and officiated over the signing of the ketubah (the Jewish wedding contract), and a Catholic priest was also involved in the ceremony. A small orchestra accompanied the couple's friend, Melissa Groves, as she sang Ave Maria.
