The Ceremony

Programs folded into paper airplanes, a hilarious priest, and nineteen young nieces and nephews participating in the ceremony all contributed to the atmosphere of joy pervading the palatial confines of St. Peter's Cathedral. With only sprays of freesia in her hair -- No veil, Mary says, laughing. It would have bugged me all day -- the bride processed to Pachelbel's Canon in D. I'll never forget watching her walk down the aisle, remembers Darren. She was so beautiful, full of life and happiness. Afterward, the newlyweds and the bridal party headed for the Plaza to pose for pictures in front of the J.C. Nichols Fountain.
