The Ceremony
Intent on creating a fun, casual atmosphere for family and friends, Caroline and Michael chose to say I do in a local apple orchard. Much to the delight of the 250 guests, who were transported on tractor-pulled wagons to a clearing for the ceremony, the day was unusually mild and breezy for late August. Along the way, they rode past maple syrup trees and rows of apple trees. Arriving in a separate wagon with the rest of the wedding party, Caroline joined Mike under an iron arbor decorated with roses and lilies. Wrapped with antique lace edging, Caroline's bouquet continued the rose and lily floral scheme. The outdoor ceremony boasted one of the couple's favorite readings: a passage from The Velveteen Rabbit about how one must be truly loved in order to become real.
