The Ceremony

Although Angela and Brent live in New York and neither of the couple’s parents are in Texas anymore (her parents are in Seattle, and Brent’s are in Kentucky), Angela’s mother grew up in San Antonio and both of them had enough family in Texas to make San Antonio a logical choice. “Mostly, I wanted to get married at the Spanish Governor’s Palace, because my grandparents were married there in 1936, before it was even open to the public,” says Angela. “My grandparents had an oil painting of the courtyard hanging over the piano, and for years I’d stare at the painting and want to go there.”
