The Ceremony
Though neither consider themselves religious, it was important to Rachael and Sarah to have a sense of tradition on their wedding day. The couple chose a series of readings special to them, which they had close friends read during the ceremony. Rachael and Sarah exchanged traditional vows as a Unitarian Universalist minister, who Rachael had known since she was very young, officiated. “We discussed our preferences with her beforehand and she wrote parts of the ceremony,” explains Rachael.
