The Ceremony

Jenny and Leandra chose three special readings for their intimate ceremony. The first was a passage from the Book of Ruth. “We picked it because we are friends first and foremost, and the passage about Ruth committing herself to Naomi is a beautiful expression of devoted friendship,” explains Jenny. The second reading was a poem by E.E. Cummings, which Jenny’s older sister and her partner performed, and their officiant’s friend read the third passage, an Apache marriage blessing.
