The Ceremony Decor

Though the wedding was held in one place, Cicely and Devard chose different color schemes to break up the space and make each area stand on its own. “It was actually an idea of our wedding planner’s to give each new room our guests moved into a new feeling, while keeping in stride with the theme and overall color design,” Cicely explains. Cicely chose brown to begin with, inspired by weddings she’d seen in magazines. She then added ivory and Wedgwood blue, inspired by the fabric and sash of her Monique Lhuillier gown. Burgundy (Devard’s favorite color) added the finishing touch. The day transitioned from the mostly blue and white ceremony to the cocktail hour, which brought in burgundy. Cicely and Devard exchanged vows in one area, set off by curtains and hanging candles, before an altar covered in sand and decorated with orchids and votive candles hanging from metal “vines.”
