The three-tiered cake was covered with pale-pink fondant and featured ivory beaded details and a floral trim. To make sure they got the cake they wanted, the couple took a cue from other elements of their wedding. “I sent the pastry chef at The Biltmore a sample of our wedding invitation’s envelope lining, a swatch of the ribbon being used for my bouquet, and paint swatches to give them the exact shade of pink we wanted,” Kate says.
