The Cake

The Tim Burton-style wedding cake, fashioned by a friend, playfully melded elements of David’s Chinese and Japanese culture with Staysi’s Mexican heritage. Staysi incorporated the same cherry blossom design used on their invitations by wrapping the three fondant-covered tiers in chocolate branches and pink sugar flowers. A Dia de Los Muertos bride, groom, and dog -- representing the couple and their puppy, Pirate -- topped the cake.
