The Cake

The couple’s three-tiered cake incorporated layers of vanilla, chocolate, and vanilla with fresh strawberry slices, and chocolate mousse in-between, all covered in fondant the color of the day’s signature hue -- praline. The cake topper was of special significance to the bride: It was the cake topper Carrie’s great-grandparents had used in 1914, as well as her grandparents in 1940.
