TeCe and Curtis were inspired by the city in planning their wedding in Overland Park. The Bride TeCe Concannon, 27, staffing manager The Groom Curtis Hunt, 27, sales manager The Date October 4 TeCe Concannon and Curtis Hunt wanted a picture-perfect wedding. Returning to their hometown, Kansas City, for their nuptials, St. Louis transplants TeCe and Curtis thought it would be fun to have some of the city landmarks serve as a backdrop to their wedding photos.

An intimate ceremony was held at the groom's family church and performed by his childhood pastor. A group of chamber musicians welcomed guests into the shell-shaped sanctuary filled with greenery-covered candelabra lining the aisle. Complementing the wedding party's vibrant red roses (the flower of the day), the couple adorned the altar with various red and white flowers. In a special moment, Curtis' grandfather read a passage for the newlyweds.
We wanted something different from the traditional 'banquet hall' and the space at The Arcadian is unique because it has multiple levels. The former theater still features a breathtaking balcony that overlooks the entire main floor. Here, the wedding party was introduced and then walked down the grand staircase for a Hollywood-worthy entrance to the reception. Treating all the senses, a delectable dinner was another key element for the couple. In Kansas City, The Arcadian is known for outstanding food, explains the bride, noting the venue's multiple awards. We wanted our guests to not only leave having a great time but enjoying the food as well.

It didn't matter to them at all that their limo bus had backed into a car as their black-and-silver-clad wedding party posed for photos at the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain to commemorate the day. Instead of waiting around for the driver to fill out the police report, we all decided to walk to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, TeCe says. It was just a few blocks away, but my matron of honor just happened to be eight months pregnant! So there we were, 26 people walking down a busy street to our next destination.
The musical selections helped set the romantic mood. Shania Twain's From This Moment led the evening's first dance, while Come Away with Me, by Norah Jones, set the tone for TeCe and Curtis to exit their wedding in memorable style
Beautiful red roses added to the couple's timeless, elegant atmosphere. I asked for no other flower, explains TeCe. The tabletop decorations kept with the bride's red rose motif: crimson rose petals were sprinkled around glass bowls with a floating candle inside.
