Anna Willis (26 and a nursing student) and Tommy Ross Vance (26 and a farmer) treated planning their wedding much like they treated designing Anna’s engagement ring. “I wanted to look back in 50 years and love it as much as I do today,” Anna says. “I wanted everything to feel classic and effortless.” With that in mind, the couple planned an affair anchored in their shared hometown roots. Anna and Tommy Ross said “I do” at Anna’s cousin’s home, among pear trees and azaleas. The décor and color scheme revolved around muted shades of white, steel blue and French blue. “The details were minimal, but lacking nothing,” Anna says.
Though Anna and Tommy Ross originally envisioned an outdoor reception, the addition of hanging lanterns, greenery-filled centerpieces and all-white linens made the reception tent “even dreamier than I could have imagined,” Anna says. The couple chose a nearly naked cake frosted with raspberry buttercream and decorated with white ranunculus. Anna’s bridesmaids wore steel blue, the bride’s personal favorite shade in the day’s color palette. For her bouquet, Anna carried romantic white lilies of the valley and calla lilies.
