They say patience is a virtue, and it's one that certainly paid off for Suzanne. Although she was hooked on Brent soon after they met on a Thanksgiving weekend ski trip, he had begun dating someone else by the time Suzanne realized her feelings. Being self-described as standoffish and gun-shy, Suzanne stepped aside in the hope that Brent's new relationship might not work out. By the time New Year's Eve rolled around, it looked to be a happy one indeed, as the two shared their first kiss at midnight. The Bride Suzanne, 36, designer The Groom Brent, 37, transit planner The Date July 30 Three years later, Suzanne arrived home early one evening to find Brent in the midst of preparations for a proposal. Momentarily blinded by hunger, she darted right to the pizza box she spotted on the counter, overlooking the nicely set table and open bottle of wine. Brent gently guided her to the table, where he poured two glasses of wine and, literally, proposed a toast.

To complement the lace on her gown, Suzanne carried a periwinkle-colored hydrangea bouquet with greenery and lavender mixed in.
The Program
The newlyweds made their getaway in the best man’s car, a perfectly color-coordinated dark brown 1965 Triumph convertible.
The couple are self-proclaimed microbrew fiends, and, as such, gave guests pints of pale ale from their favorite local brewer, Big Time Brewery & Alehouse. They created their own labels for the bottles, naming their signature brew Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace Pale Ale.
To blend beautifully with his bride, Brent wore a chocolate brown Armani suit with a pale blue dress shirt and a blue and bronze striped silk tie.
Suzanne traded the blushing bride look for a bronzed one in a silk charmeuse, bias-cut gown embellished with periwinkle blue lace by Robert Danes. Gold chandelier earrings adorned with blue chalcedony and smoky topaz and a matching bracelet with a chalcedony drop completed the look.
The Guest Book
To continue the blue, bronze, and chocolate brown color scheme, tables were set in matching linens and topped with bouquets of blue hydrangeas. The gorgeous waterfront views of the Magnolia Room at the Palisade Restaurant gave guests a glimpse of downtown Seattle and Mount Rainier beyond.
