Summer & Aaron in Lincoln, NE
It was no trick when Summer and Aaron’s mutual friends managed to coax them into hanging out at their house one April Fool’s Day. After introducing themselves, the two hit it off right away -- they started a conversation that lasted for hours, and the night ended with a sweet slow dance in their friends’ kitchen. The Bride Summer Monroe, 30, interviewing coordinator The Groom Aaron Wells, 25, analyst The Date April 1 Just less than a year later, Aaron sent Summer a large bouquet of roses and one calla lily to her work. That night, after a nice dinner at one of Summer’s favorite restaurants, Lazlo’s, Aaron asked her to sit and talk on her parent’s porch swing for a while. That was when he reached into his coat and pulled out a single calla lily. “This is for you,” he told her, “It’s the rest of your flowers from the bouquet I sent you today.” Having not seen it right away, Aaron told Summer to look inside the calla lily, where she found a beautiful engagement ring around the middle of the lily’s pistil. “Aaron knew this was the house I grew up in, and knows how close I am to my family so that’s why it was so much more special,” Summer says, “He couldn’t have thought of a more meaningful place to propose.” The couple was excited to plan their April Fool’s Day (of course!) wedding celebration for 480 guests. They decided on a spring theme with yellow (Summer’s favorite) as their primary wedding color.
