From the moment Sue laid eyes on Keith at a ’70s and ’80s–themed costume party, she knew she had to meet him. “I was mesmerized by Keith as he discoed to the Bee Gees in his polyester getup,” she remembers. “And Keith says he noticed me and my big hair immediately.” The two chatted for hours at the party, and before the night was over they’d made plans for a first date. The Bride Sue May Anderson, 28, engineer The Groom Keith Jessup, 31, engineer The Date August 25 Seven years later, on a weekend getaway to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, they rented a boat and headed out to do a bit of swimming with their recently adopted puppy. “Keith pulled out a dog treat container, shaped like a giant Milk-Bone, and asked me to put a few dog treats in it,” Sue says. Though the treats were safe and dry in a zippered pouch, she complied and opened the container. “To my total surprise, there was a ring inside, and when I looked up, Keith was down on one knee,” she says. They married two years later in an elegant, orchid-filled celebration in Boston.
