St. Mary of the Mount Church, Ornate Altar

Not only was St. Mary of the Mount Church gorgeous with an over-the-top, ornate white altar and extravagant ceilings, but it also had particular meaning for LuAnn. “When I was younger, I used to take my friends on a tour of Pittsburgh, which included the overlook on Mount Washington. St. Mary of the Mount is located right across the street from the overlook,” LuAnn says. “On one of the many tours, my friend suggested that I had to get married at St. Mary's because we always visit it and I always talked about how much I love the church. It was the best idea and from that point on, I always referred to it as ‘the marriage church.’ ”
