S'Mores and Foliage Put Autumn on Full Display at This Backyard Wedding in Fayetteville, Georgia

Few things are better than the crisp evening air of a fall day, a fact that Lindsay Pigford and Zac Holben capitalized on for their intimate backyard wedding in Georgia. As the couple planned their wedding, a few things were especially important to them: "When thinking about our wedding day, we dreamed of a day that was simple, intentional, outside, and genuinely us.' We really tried to focus on the importance of the day and the love we share, and leave out all of the extras and the frills. We wanted every piece of our day to have meaning and significance, and incorporated the talents and gifts of so many of our loved ones in the process. It was a beautiful, crisp November wedding on the land surrounding my parent's home, and it truly couldn't have been a more special day." In a true labor of love, the DIY wedding day was a family affair. "Most of the décor was built or created by our family and our friends. The beautiful arbor and benches that we used during the ceremony were designed and built by my father, my husband, and my brother-in-law. Our reception was filled with rustic wooden farm tables lined with simple greenery underneath what felt like hundreds of lights hanging off the back of my parent's home and overlooking the lake behind it. My parent's land is so special to us and also so stunning on its own, especially during the fall, so we wanted that to be the main décor by keeping everything else simple and natural." As the couple looked back on their autumn wedding day, this piece of advice for current to-be-weds was on their minds: "In the months leading up to your wedding, focus more on the development of your love and relationship than on the planning of your wedding day. Don't forget that you and your love are the reason for all of this. That's where the magic lies."
