Minimal Décor Melded Seamlessly with The St. Louis Contemporary Art Museum at This Missouri Wedding

For Allison Eckert (32 and an interior designer) and Cameron Bence (31 and an architect), the date of their post-wedding celebration was more crucial in selecting a wedding date than anything else for one simple reason: Baseball. Avid MLB fans, Allison and Cameron, who root for the Cardinals and Brewers, respectively, knew that while they had all their friends in town, a day at the ballpark was a must. With that crucial detail nailed down, they moved ahead with planning a modern, minimal white-and-green wedding for the day before. “We met in St. Louis and loved the idea of sealing the deal where our story started,” the couple says.

The wedding bouquets and boutonierres “featured a special element from my dad’s garden—rosemary sprigs and kale leaves! One of my favorite parts of summer is all the fresh vegetables and fruit we get to enjoy from my family garden. Incorporating a small part of the garden and the hard work my dad, uncle and grandpa put into the garden was a special way to celebrate our family,” Allison says. and a second helping “I am a vegetarian so having a delish veggie option that goes above and beyond the typical pasta with steamed veggies dish was important,” Allison says of the reception menu. The bride’s dad built a wooden structure resembling a chapel for the couple’s outdoor nuptials.

At the reception, guests were encouraged to leave their well-wishes on a globe, an especially fitting ask given that some came from as far as Italy to attend. The couple planned to serve St. Louis gooey butter squares along with their wedding cake, but a miscommunication led to the treats ending up at the wrong art museum. Thankfully, the wayward treats made their way to the post-wedding baseball game to be enjoyed by all.
