A Simple Wedding at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences in New Jersey

Morgan and Michael  spend most of their summers in LBI, so when they began planning their wedding, they knew just the place to show off its natural beauty. “We wanted light and bright and natural elements, which is why we chose the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences,” Morgan says. “There are tons of windows and beautiful views of Barnegat Bay from the deck where cocktail hour was held.” The couple chose a mostly white palette to accentuate the art on the foundation’s walls.Morgan took the “something borrowed” tradition to heart, wearing her grandmother’s jewelry and sister-in-law’s veil.Rose, orchids, daises and greenery matched the white-on-white décor.A steel drum player performed at cocktail hour, while guests nibbled on coconut shrimp and mini crab cakes in front of a hanging floral exhibit. Michael curated a playlist with greatest hits from the 2000s, including R. Kelly’s “Ignition.” Guests left with doughnuts from local favorite Shore Good Donuts. The couple loves Gary Clark Jr. and “often listen to him on our record player,” Morgan says. So it was only right they chose “Our Love” as the soundtrack to their first dance.
