Todd didn’t realize he was being set up the night he met Shelly. But their friends had matchmaking on their minds when they all headed out for dinner and drinks -- and their intuitions were right, as Shelly and Todd “immediately clicked.” The couple went out on their first date a week later, which was quickly followed by a second. At the end, she found Todd sitting next to the couple’s dog, who was wearing a big red bow around his neck with an engagement ring tied to it. “I unfortunately do not remember anything Todd said, I was too stunned,” says Shelly. “All I could say was yes!” Luckily, she didn’t remain at a loss for words -- sixteen months later, Shelly and Todd said, “I do.” The couple used a chocolate-brown and green combo to tie together the wedding elements at their hip, urban wedding in the West Bottoms near downtown Kansas City.
