Shelby had to be persuaded. I knew it would take me an hour to fight the traffic to get there, and then I was certain to have a terrible time finding parking. Needless to say, after 90 minutes of circling for parking, Shelby wanted nothing more than to go home. But when she found Mike waiting with a picnic and his ukulele, she was inclined to stay and enjoy. And when he produced a ring and proposed, she was thankful she did. I was absolutely stunned and couldn't speak...fortunately a jogger passing by shouted, 'Say yes!' and so I did!
