Shayna and Marc might never have gotten together if it weren’t for Marc’s brother, Nick. Though all three knew each other, it was Shayna and Nick who quickly became good friends -- “Marc seemed to barely notice me,” Shayna remembers. A few years after they first met, however, Marc started to ask Nick about Shayna quite a bit, and Shayna and Marc went on a few dates. Before they knew it, “things just took off!” Shayna says. The Bride Shayna Berube, 26, corporate training manager The Groom Marc Anthony Campiola, 30, production supervisor The Date June 17 A few years later, Marc told Shayna they’d be going out to dinner with some friends. They were the first to arrive at the restaurant, and eventually Marc checked his voicemail and told Shayna their friends couldn’t make it. After dinner, Marc asked Shayna if she’d liked to check out the dessert cart -- but after getting up, he came back to the table with a large white box. Puzzled, Shayna opened it to find two dozen white roses and a note that said, “Will you marry me?” Marc got down on one knee to ask her himself, and as she said yes, everyone in the restaurant cheered and applauded.

The reception room was awash in ivory and ice blue. Guests found their seats at tables covered in floor-length ivory linens and topped off with ice blue sheer organza overlays. Even the chairs were tied off with ice blue bows.
In addition to the favors at guests’ place settings, Shayna and Marc also had a candy bar on offer so that guests could pick up an additional sweet treat. Shayna collected various vases and oversized martini glasses, and filled each with a different candy in the wedding colors, including blueberry and vanilla jellybeans, ice blue and white M&M’s, blue raspberry rock candy, and yogurt-covered pretzels and raisins.
“Our wedding cake was a four-tiered masterpiece!” Shayna says. “I had made a few wedding cakes for friends and when I attended culinary school, so I wanted to make sure our cake was just perfect.” The cake was frosted in white buttercream with ice blue scrollwork around each tier, and fresh blue and green hydrangeas around each tier as well. Two tiers featured chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling, while the other two were white cake with amaretto mousse filling.
Instead of a traditional guest book, Shayna and Marc’s guests signed the oversized mat around one of their engagement photos. “I loved this idea when I saw it,” Shayna says. “I plan to hang it on the wall for years of memories.”
Shayna and Marc exchanged vows at St. Andrew’s-by-the Sea, a historic church from the 1800s that sits across the street from the Atlantic Ocean.
Shayna and Marc had actually never heard of Wentworth by the Sea until her parents mentioned it. “My mother told me that my grandmother used to tell her stories about it, and would describe the details of the paintings in the domed ceiling of the restaurant dining room,” Shayna says. When she and Marc finally saw it, “our first thought was how completely breathtaking it was.” Once they went into the restaurant and saw the ceiling her grandmother had talked about, restored to its former glory, they knew they had found the place.
“I love the color blue, and tried very hard to keep everything flowing together with whites and ice blues,” Shayna explains. Her bridesmaids picked up the palette perfectly with ice blue dresses from Alexia Designs that featured side pleats at the waist and beading down one side.
Shayna carried a bouquet of creamy white peonies, roses, and ranunculus, while her bridesmaids held white peonies, apricot roses, and green viburnum.
Guests found their seats thanks to glowing, vellum-wrapped votive candles, which Shayna labeled with each guest’s name. She also added ribbon to indicate their choice of entree to the catering staff.
