Sharon and Don met on a cruise of Lake Michigan. Sharon’s best friend from Australia (where Sharon is from originally) was visiting, and Sharon took her on the lake cruise to get the best view of Chicago, while Don was on the cruise with friends. When Don, who was representing Australian wine at the time, overheard the girls’ accents he struck up a conversation. After four weeks of group gatherings, Don’s persistence was finally rewarded with a one-on-one date with Sharon.
