Shades of Purple Filled This Casual Garden Wedding at The Old Homestead in Crockett, California
"Love and a warm summer breeze," inspired Michelle and Dee's garden wedding celebration at The Old Homestead in Crockett, California. To bring their garden celebration to life, the couple chose of color palette of plum and wisteria, with hints of white and silver "because we thought it would look beautiful with the ambience at our ceremony site. Lush green grass and redwood trees look fabulous with our colors," shares Michelle. When it came to bringing the purple-filled wedding day to life, the couple chose to DIY most of the details. Michelle, "made all of my centerpieces and ordered all of my linens. I designed and decorated everything myself," she explains. "My flowers were all an assortment of white, plum and lavender flowers. Centerpieces were peony arrangements that I made myself. They were set atop tall glass vases with jewels at the bottom and filled with fairy lights inside. I chose the peonies because they matched the peony design on our wedding invitation. Ultimately, we did not want our wedding to be stiff and stuffy. It was a celebration and we wanted to party." Looking back on the day, the couple encourages current to-be-weds to "enjoy the day and soak it up because the entire day will fly by and be over before you know. Everything is going to turn out how it is supposed to turn out so don’t stress over the small stuff."
