Sara and Dan met as first-years at the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. The two immediately became friends, but it wasn’t until their board exams during senior year that they finally gave a real relationship a try. When she got upstairs he was down on one knee. Shocked -- and shaking -- she said, Oh my, you're doing this now? I'm in my pajamas! She quickly stopped caring about her outfit when she saw the ring. To celebrate, the couple headed out for a romantic dinner (after Sara changed into regular clothes of course!). Six months later, they were married in a vintage-inspired wedding on Mackinac Island (where Dan participated in the Great Turtle race with his family for more than eight years).
