Sandy and Michael decided on an orchid theme for their fall affair. The bloom is a favorite of both of their mothers, and it was, after all, the moms -- friends through the Taiwanese community -- who introduced the lovebirds. The Bride Sandy Lin, 27 The Groom Michael Hsu, 24 The Date October 12 Our first memory together is from 1984 when Michael was five years old and graduating from his piano lessons, says Sandy. To celebrate his accomplishment, there was a recital where songs were played and a story was narrated along with the music. Michael, of course, was at the helm of the recital, playing his much-practiced piano pieces, while Sandy narrated. Sandy remembered that recital, though Michael and his parents did not believe her when she mentioned that it was she who was that little girl. When they went digging through the old family videos, sure enough, the two of them were standing there, side by side.
