Although Lauren Magee, 32, a director of development, and Bryan Bussard, 34, a cyber security analyst, connected through an online dating site and discovered they had both grown up in the same hometown in Maryland, attended the same high school and ran on the tack team together. A year and a half after they started dating, Bryan proposed to Lauren at sunset on a beach and began to plan the wedding that would be the start of their new life together. Lauren and Bryan wanted their wedding venue to be a reflection of the simple and cause couple they were, and when they came across Linganore Winecellars in Mount Airy, Maryland, they knew it was perfect. Although the couple originally wanted to get married near the water, the rolling hills, rustic barn and vineyard at the location was too hard to ignore. "Having our wedding at a winery meant that we could choose a selection of Linganore's wines to serve at the cocktail hour and reception, in addition to two half kegs of beer," Lauren recalls. "This worked out perfectly for our guests, even those who aren't particularly wine drinkers." Summer seasonal blooms such as sunflowers, daisies and black-eyed susans were used to decorate the wedding venue, with a local color of peach because it was the perfect combination of being soft and bright, along with not being too much of a feminine color.
