Rosalie & Sean in Staatsburg, NY

After flying back and forth from Seattle to New York to be with one another, Rosalie Mullin and Sean Donovan paired a travel theme with a palette of pink and orange for their wedding on the banks of the Hudson River. Since the groom is originally from the UK and the bride is from Seattle, most of the guests would be traveling as well, which is why Rosalie and Sean set out to make the most of the short time they had with everyone. The Bride Rosalie Mullin, 29, architect The Groom Sean Donovan, 32 software engineer The Date September 24 Rosalie was living in Seattle when she first met Sean. The UK native had been living in New York for four years when his work brought him to town for a client visit. The only person he knew in Seattle was a friend of his roommate, who just so happened to be Rosalie's best friend's husband – so when the two guys made plans for dinner, Rosalie's best friend brought her along in the hopes of fixing her up with a handsome gentleman. The two did not get together right away, but did exchange phone numbers. After meeting up again –- one more time in Seattle and then on his coast –- Rosalie and Sean started talking more often and a romantic courtship ensued. After a year of traveling back and forth every two weeks to visit one another, Rosalie moved to New York City to be with Sean. He proposed a little more than a year later. Once we saw the grounds of Mills Mansion, we pretty much knew it was the place, says Rosalie. The wedding was to be held mostly outdoors, right on the banks of the Hudson, surrounded by beautiful tall trees. Rosalie and Sean picked bright pinks and oranges to contrast the lush green of the grounds -- and because the colors suited both their personalities: Sean is known for ordering pink drinks in the bar, so the bright, warm colors speak as much to his personality as mine! she says.
