Romantic Wedding at The Mansion at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut

MacKenzie Cotters (29 and a marketing and business development manager) and Matt Kikosicki (30 and an architect) incorporated muted tones of green, blue, taupe and blush into their wedding. “Our goal was for the day to feel effortless but curated with intention,” MacKenzie says. They filled the stately space with geometric accents, mercury glass lanterns, a birch wood chuppah and hundreds of candles. As a nod to the couple’s home in Seattle, their florist incorporated snowberries—a plant native to the Pacific northwest—into each arrangement. The indoor-outdoor accommodations allowed partygoers to enjoy the gardens overlooking the Long Island Sound before settling in for a candlelit dinner. “We were looking forward to having all of our family and friends in one room at the same time,” MacKenzie says. Easy elegance was the focus for the newlyweds, who sent guests home with homemade cookies in hand-stamped paper bags. “It’s a Pittsburgh tradition,” MacKenzie says, paying homage to her hometown with a cookie table. “Some guests baked theirs at home and brought them all the way to Connecticut.”
