An Elegant Classic Estate at The Armour House in Lake Forest, Illinois

A delicate color palette of blush, gray and green with shades of blue lent a romantic feel to Claire McKendrick (27 and an environmental scientist) and Albert Kline’s (31 and finance director) garden fete.

“The grounds were breathtaking, so not much extra décor was needed,” Claire says of retreating to Chicago’s suburbs to say “I do.” A carpet of cream rose petals lined the outdoor ceremony space, creating a floral aisle.

Bridesmaids donned asymmetrical, floor-length sheaths while Claire wore a blush ball gown embellished with vintage crystals and pearls. “I fell in love with the dress as soon as I tried it on,” she says. All three flower girls accessorized tulle dresses with cream-colored sweaters and verdant flower crowns. “They blew kisses to family and friends as they walked down the aisle,” Claire says.

Partygoers sipped on signature, cucumber-mint mojitos before taking a seat at tables topped with mercury glass centerpieces. After snacking on local fare that ranged from grilled steak to stuffed chicken, guests indulged in a classic chocolate and yellow cake covered in ombré buttercream.
