A Rustic, Romantic Barn Wedding at Gedney Farm in New Marlborough, Massachusetts

Julia and Sara filled Gedney Farm with gradients of pink. The couple asked their bridal party to wear shades ranging from champagne to light pink and dusty rose, and their watercolor ketubah sparkled. When plans to have an outdoor ceremony changed due to rain, fairy lights, candles and bright blooms made way for a romantic ceremony inside the barn.
Inspired by an Armani look J-Lo once wore, Julia’s custom blue suit sparked confidence. “It’s the color I’ll wear again and again,” she says. Cherry-blossom-style lace appliqués on Sara’s dreamy gown—and its matching jacket—felt “very Downton Abbey.”
Partygoers took home small glass vials filled with wildflower seeds. Julia’s Candy Shop and Sara’s Photo Booth kept guests entertained all night with take-away bags stued with Runts candy and a prop-filled DIY photo booth. The couple danced to “Head Over Feet” by Alanis Morissette, paying homage to their younger selves. “The lyrics speak strongly to how we see our relationship,” Sara says.
